What is Dodgeland's Dollars for Scholars?
The Dodgeland Dollars for Scholars program raises and disburses scholarship funds to help graduates of our high school finance their post-secondary educations. During these first several years, efforts are focused upon growing an endowment that will provide sufficient sums to help an ever-growing number of students.
Dodgeland's Dollars for Scholars dates from the summer of 2002, when a group of district members established the Dodgeland Education Foundation. Acting to coincide with the opening of the district's new K-12 school, board members quickly decided to affiliate with the national Dollars for Scholars organization. With that affiliation, donors to Dodgeland's fund can enjoy the full tax benefits of contributing to a federally recognized charitable organization.
Raising the needed sums in a small district will not be an easy chore, but neither is the prospect many of our neediest graduates face in meeting the costs of a higher education. Foundation members are determined to succeed so that this much-needed assistance might be provided.
