COVID-19 Dashboard
Dear Dodgeland Community,
We developed this data dashboard as a means of sharing timely information about the impact of the coronavirus on our school. Each Friday, the chart will be updated with data regarding the staff and students COVID-19 cases in our system, the number of staff and students who are in quarantine, and the number of staff and students in isolation. Historical data will also be shared. Please note that in order to protect the confidential nature of this information, data will not be reported if there are less than five individuals representing that data cell.
To more fully understand how we are tracking this data, we share the following definitions below.
All District COVID-19 Communications can be found on the COVID-19 Parent Communication page.
COVID-19 Definitions
- Direct Contact: A direct contact is anyone who had direct physical contact with a COVID-19 positive person (e.g., hug, kiss, handshake).
- Close Contact: A close contact is anyone with six feet of a COVID-19 positive person for more than 15 minutes. This includes multiple encounters with a 24-hour period adding up to 15 cumulative minutes. Additionally, a close contact is anyone who had contact with a COVID-19 positive person's respiratory secretions (e.g., coughed/sneezed on, contact with dirty tissues, sharing a drinking glass, food, or personal items).
- Indirect Contact: An indirect contact is anyone who may have shared a gathering space (e.g, classroom, bus, locker room, etc.) with a COVID-19 positive individual, but that contact was greater than six feet and/or or less than 15 minutes cumulatively.
- Quarantine (Quar.): “Quarantine is used to keep someone who might have been exposed to COVID-19 away from others. Quarantine helps prevent spread of disease that can occur before a person knows they are sick or if they are infected with the virus without feeling symptoms. People in quarantine should stay home, separate themselves from others, monitor their health, and follow directions from their state or local health department.” - This quote is from the CDC Guidelines on COVID-19.
- Isolation (Iso.): Anyone who tested positive for COVID-19 is required to be in isolation. If at the end of the isolation period, the individual is symptom-free without the aid of medication, the individual may return to school. This determination will be made by the individual’s medical provider or Dodge County Public Health Department personnel.
