About Purple Purpose
New to Dodgeland, our High School National Honor Society (NHS) created and runs the “Purple Purpose Room,” a place where students can go to get clothes, school supplies or toiletries.
During the 2021-2022 school year, past president Miranda Firari (now a student at Grand Valley State University) and current president Tara Schaalma saw a need in our school and started this as a project for NHS that will continue long term.
The Purple Purpose Room is open before school and during lunch/advisory hours for middle and high school students, however, teachers can also access the room at any time to get needed items for a student.
NHS was awarded grant money last year that funded shelving/racks and continue to seek donations to keep the room stocked for student needs. Donations can be brought to either the Elementary or Middle/High School office during school hours. Monetary donations to purchase toiletries/hygiene products can be made out to Dodgeland Purple Purpose.
