Invests Strategically in Digital Resources
Leverages an understanding of school and community needs to identify and invest in digital resources such as books and ebooks to support student learning.
Current Practices
-
Maintain accurate records of spending according to budgetary allowances which change annually.
-
Purchase library materials (print and digital) abiding by Wisconsin’s Common School Funds guidelines.
-
Purchase made based on staff and student recommendations, recognized reading trends, ability to support curriculum, and consulting professional agencies such as Cooperative Children’s Book Center, Kirkus, Junior Library Guild, School Library Journal, TeachingBooks, and We Need Diverse Books.
-
Provide and promote use of digital reading resources such as Sora (collection provided in tandem to the Wisconsin School Digital Library Consortium), BookFlix, and TrueFlix.
5 Year Goal
-
Continue ongoing evaluation and assessment of our collection annually, removing materials that are no longer used or needed, adding materials, and replacing lost or worn materials that still have educational value.
