Great strides are being made on the addition foundations. 75% of the walls are poured and the masonry firewall is now above grade. By the end of 5/14/2021, all of the walls will be poured. Then the walls will be backfilled and ready for the next step, which is more masonry and also the start of structural steel!

A temporary shoring system is shown in these pictures. To create the opening for the new HS Collaboration area, contractors are cutting into existing load-bearing walls. New structural steel members will be put in-place to carry the weight the walls once supported, but until those steel members are installed, the walls need to be supported with other means.

What was once the welding booths, is now turning into a bathroom! In this picture, our plumbing contractor has installed the new underground plumbing lines and is ready for the pipes to be inspected and filled back in with aggregate and new concrete.
On the other side of the building, things are also moving along smoothly in the demo phase. Flooring, walls, ceilings, and MEP component demo will be completed in the next week or so. Then contractors will start putting the puzzle back together again!
